Meeting with the florist today. For centrepieces, we’re doing potted herbs. Lemon balm, spearmint, and rosemary. (They’re all really fragrant, and the shapes are very different but complementary.) Our florist is going to have his contact plant the herbs for us in the pots so they’re all ready to go and so that they don’t get too huge for the tables.
However, in the meantime, we need to prime and paint 24 pots.
This week.
Hm.

I like Twitter. I like it a lot. I follow lots of people. Friends in real life, local folks who are up to interesting things, journalists, celebrities, what have you. People who are interesting. They make my day go faster.
I follow John Mayer, not just because I like his music (though I do), but because he’s hilarious. He’s been trying to start a new holiday called Pedamundo. (The whole thing was to see if he could get a nonsense word on the trending topics, I think.) People who follow him on Twitter started helping him define the holiday and how it would be celebrated.
So I tweeted, “I’m raising my flag to double-mast in honour of Pedomundo.”
Spelling error, too. Awesome. I’m not an English PhD candidate or anything.
The he tweeted back, “@mittenstrings [that's me] One of the funniest replies I’ve ever seen.”
Okay, so that’s cool enough, right?! I mean, how awesome and random is that? Surely that story couldn’t go anywhere else, right?
OH WAIT. ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY.
Helluva day. HLM got promoted, too. But seriously. John Mayer. Entertainment Weekly. WTF.

Seriously. I am really enjoying the whole go-to-the-store-pick-up-a-present-write-a-thank-you-note aspect of the wedding. I could do this all freaking day and night. Is there a way to have this happen without the whole getting married, spending huge amounts of money, arguing with vendors aspect? Anyone figured out a way to make that work?
Anyone?
Bueller?

HLM had another race tonight: a crit, which I’ve already posted the definition of. He did a great job, hung tight with the peloton for the whole time and had a blast. He’s a bit leg crampy, but I gave his muscles a massage that will hopefully help and he had a long hot bath. I totally don’t get the desire to punish your body. I like to treat mine nicely and feed it delicious cakes.
Incidentally, I’ve lost ten pounds since I started the blog. Ten steady, healthy pounds. No jumping around, no dieting, no yo-yo-ing. Nice.
I found out soigneurs get special bags. I’ma get one.

… I checked off every single item on my to-do list.
Weird.
Apocalypse imminent.

… for Sebastien Vettel, anyway. He still came in third, but I really thought he would take the poll to a win. I stand by my claim that he is the next Schumacher, though. Strong, talented, ballsy, willing to kick ass and take names, and apparently a perfectionist. Haven’t seen such an annoyed face on the podium since Schumi retired.
In other news, I must tidy my office and make a to-do list tonight. It’s back to the academic grind tomorrow. It’s going to be so hard to pull myself away from this little holiday.

Trade Secret is doing a promo where if you buy two Opi polishes you get an Opi top and base coat for free. I totally bought into it. Nice polish really makes a difference. This went on so much easier and smoother than my usual Wet and Wild crappolla.
