… and he did really well! Not first, but not last either. Mid-ish of the pack, where he expected to be. This was a crit race (short for criterium), which Wikipedia explains means the following:
A criterium, or crit, is a bike race held on a short course (usually less than 5 km), often run on closed-off city centre streets.
